BookInstead Cancellation & Refund Policy

At BookInstead, we believe in fairness — for both travelers and experience providers. Our cancellation policy is designed to provide flexibility while respecting the preparation and commitment of our partners.

Standard Cancellation Terms

Unless otherwise stated on the specific experience listing, the following policy applies:

1. Free Cancellation Window

  • Cancellations made 24 hours or more before the scheduled start time are eligible for a 100% refund.

2. Partial Refund

  • Cancellations made less than 24 hours but more than 12 hours before the start time are eligible for a 50% refund.

3. Non-Refundable

  • Cancellations made within 12 hours of the start time, or failure to attend (no-show), are non-refundable.

Operator-Specific Policies

Some experiences may have customized cancellation terms. If so:

  • The operator’s specific cancellation policy will be clearly displayed on the booking page.
  • The policy shown at checkout overrides the standard policy.

Refund Processing

  • Approved refunds are processed back to the original payment method.
  • Refunds typically appear within 5–10 business days, depending on your financial institution.
  • BookInstead service fees may be non-refundable unless otherwise stated.

Weather & Unforeseen Circumstances

If an experience is canceled by the operator due to weather, safety concerns, or operational issues:

  • You will be offered either a full refund or the option to reschedule.

Force Majeure

BookInstead is not responsible for cancellations caused by events beyond reasonable control (e.g., natural disasters, government restrictions, strikes). In such cases, refunds will be handled in coordination with the operator.

BookInstead reserves the right to update this policy at any time. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
