About Tour
Don’t spend your time in traffic; spend it on the water experiencing nature’s magic!
The source of our “living lights”—bioluminescence—are dinoflagellates, single-celled organisms common in marine environments. Each bioluminescent dinoflagellate flashes only a fraction of a second when disturbed by water movement, but their high concentrations in the warm Indian River water create beautiful bluish-white trails of light caused by swimming fish and paddling kayakers. A swimming manatee may be completely concealed in a spectacular, other-worldly cloud of living light!
Upon arriving at the park, check in with the trip leaders to sign a mandatory release of liability and assumption of risk form. You are then outfitted with a life jacket, kayak, and paddle. After some brief instruction, we paddle as a group in search of the living lights. Most tours last 90 minutes, However, if the bioluminescence is super bright and dolphins or manatees show up on the scene, well… time just doesn’t matter.
What makes our tours different from the rest?
We limit our tour to 14 guests. This way you can get lost in thought, not lost in a crowd.
We offer single kayaks and tandem kayaks. You chose what you want to paddle.
We constantly update our meeting locations to where the bioluminescence is glowing the brightest.

Unreal experience with Adventures in Florida and our guide Tia! We did the Wekiva River kayak and would highly recommend. This is a great local company! We were a family of 4 with two kids 13 and 15. We did tandem kayaks and this was great for us. We also did this as a private tour and was a highlight of our trip to Orlando. Just beautiful. We saw a ton of wildlife including 28 gators. The picnic lunch was a great touch and the perfect amount of food to keep going. Thanks a lot for the memories!
