Grab your friends and take on this iconic 3.6-mile loop trail near Pahaquarry, New Jersey. The ascent along the Red Dot Trail offers sweeping views almost the entire way up. After reaching the summit’s stunning overlook, follow the Blue Dot Trail down — a more gradual descent that passes a refreshing swimming hole and small waterfalls. This route is rated challenging, but rewarding for hikers of all levels looking for an adventure.
After the hike, we head to Joe Bosco’s Authentic Smokehouse, where brisket, ribs, and bold smoky flavors make for the perfect post-trail feast — and a true Urban Sherpa favorite.

Where and when does the bus depart and return?
The bus departs from Times Square (42nd St between 7th & 8th Ave) at around 8:30 AM and returns to the same location around 5:30 PM after the hike and smokehouse stop.

Urban Sherpa did an excellent job organizing this day trip. The timing was perfect, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the trail offered some of the best panoramic views I’ve seen in a while. Lunch at the smokehouse was a delightful bonus!
